BISHOP’S EPISCOPAL VISITATION, & SYNOD MASS & CONFIRMATIONS, SATURDAY, 9:15 AM

Next Saturday is a big day for our Parish. Please make every effort to be here for the 9:15 am service. God willing, Bishop Frederick Morrison will make his annual visitation to celebrate the Mass, preach the gospel, administer the sacrament of Confirmation, and formally accept new members. A brunch will follow in celebration.

PRAY FOR OUR CANDIDATES FOR CONFIRMATION

As our Confirmands are seeking to be strengthened by the gift of the Holy Spirit through the laying on of hands, please pray that they will draw near with penitent and faithful hearts and evermore be filled with the power of His divine indwelling. Confirmands are Kurt Jerry Michel Dierick, Carol Ann Fabbri, Zachary Lynn MacDonald and Valerie Ann Marchalonis.

NEW MEMBERS FORMAL ACCEPTANCE INTO THE PARISH

Those who took new members classes last year will be formally welcomed by the Bishop at his annual visitation to our parish on Saturday, June 16th . If you have any questions, please talk to Fr. Hines. A series of new members classes will be held in the Fall.

SUMMER SUNDAY MASS SCHEDULE -JULY 1ST THROUGH SEPTEMBER 2ND MASS WILL BE OFFERED AT 9AM. WE WILL RETURN TO THE OLD SCHEDULE OF 8 & 10:30 AM SUNDAY MASSES ON SEPTEMBER 9TH.

SCHEDULE CHANGES AT THE SYNOD

Two changes to the schedule have occurred since the Synod information was sent to you. The time changes for “The Sacraments from A to Z” presented by The Reverend Frank Brule. The date is still on Thursday, June 14th, but the time is now 3:30pm -4:15pm.

The Anglican Youth Group Conference is rescheduled from Thursday to Friday, June 15th at 4:15pm -5 :15pm in Ballroom C.

“THEY ALL BEGAN TO MAKE EXCUSES.” St. Luke 14:18

The Gospel for next Sunday is the story of the invited guests who declined to come to the banquet prepared for them. The parable teaches that the kingdom of heaven is not for the full, but for the hungry. Even though you may have attended the Synod on Saturday, the Lord has prepared a banquet for you on Sunday as well. Please attend the regular Masses scheduled at 8:00 am and 10:30 am on Sunday, June 17th.

We employ the rich Ceremonial of the historic Church in our worship. While it may seem a bit strange or unnatural to you at first, be patient. The liturgical heritage of the Church WILL speak to you in time, as it has to Christians through the centuries.

Welcome to Saint George’s!

If you are a visitor with us just for today we bid you God speed on your journey. If you are seeking a church home we welcome you into our spiritual family so that you might make good on your Christian duty to “follow Christ, worship God every Sunday in His Church, to work and pray and give for the spread of His kingdom” (BCP, page 291). In either case, be sure to sign the guest book and introduce yourself to us upon the conclusion of the service.

We are part of the Anglican Province of Christ the King–a nationwide body of traditional Episcopal Churches which stands for historic Christianity in the Anglican tradition.

OUR BELIEFS are based on the teaching of the Bible and the ancient creeds of the Church. We use the 1928 Book of Common Prayer as the basis for our worship.

OUR MISSION is to worship God, serve Jesus Christ, and to bring mankind to Jesus and His Church by : (1) proclaiming biblical truth through Catholic order as it is embodied in the historic Book of Common Prayer; (2) preaching God’s Word and administrating His Holy Sacraments; (3) showing the love of Christ by reaching out to others through works of charity; and (4) upholding Christian family values and teaching the Christian faith and New Testament morality to our children.

OUR GOALS are: to grow in understanding of and participation in the corporate worship services of the Church, to reach Holy Scripture daily and to love God and our neighbor more fully.

FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN are especially welcomed, as our Church School stands ready to equip you and your children for living the Christian life. Sunday school instruction and nursery are provided during the 10:30 am Sunday service.
