TRAIN UP A CHILD IN THE WAY HE SHOULD GO AND WHEN HE IS OLD HE WILL NOT DEPART FROM IT. (Proverbs 22:6)

We are thrilled to announce that our parish was the sole recipient of a plaque recognizing our exemplary Sunday School program. The award was presented to our Church at the Synod by Kathleen Brulc, Diocesan Church School Director and is presented today to Kim Jones on behalf of the Sunday School teachers for their outstanding service and sacrifices bringing up our children in Christ. In addition Certificates of Recognition will be presented today to all children who participated in the Diocesan art contest.

SUMMER HOURS BEGIN JULY 1ST

The Summer Mass schedule begins today and continues through September 2nd. We will return to the old schedule of two Masses held at 8:00 am & 10:30 on September 9th.

SPECIAL SIX WEEK SUNDAY SCHOOL PROGRAM STARTS JULY 8

During this Summer, the Sunday School students will study a special curriculum. They will learn about King David’s early life, the Psalms, typical life in the desert, customs and food of the people. Please encourage all students to attend this special program. If you have any questions, please contact Laura Seibert or Kim Jones.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

“Service” is a very important and wonderful way to give back to God and our church. Coffee Hour is very important for fellowship and for welcoming new members into the parish. Oft times it might be the only opportunity for our parish family to socialize and for visitors and new members to meet us. Sign up sheets are located on the back table or contact Suzanne Winters at 204-8730. As our Lord said, “It is more blessed to give, than to receive.”

BUNCO PARTY

Don & Sharon Zurfluh are hosting a fund raising Bunco Party for an evening of socialization on Friday, July 27th . The cost is $20.00 per person + $10.00 gift card. A light dinner will be served at 5:30 pm with the game starting at 6:00 pm. All proceeds from the evening will go to reduce St. George’s Development Loan. Please reserve your spot at the game by signing the sheet located on the table at the back of the Church.

We employ the rich Ceremonial of the historic Church in our worship. While it may seem a bit strange or unnatural to you at first, be patient. The liturgical heritage of the Church WILL speak to you in time, as it has to Christians through the centuries.

Welcome to Saint George’s!

If you are a visitor with us just for today we bid you God speed on your journey. If you are seeking a church home we welcome you into our spiritual family so that you might make good on your Christian duty to “follow Christ, worship God every Sunday in His Church, to work and pray and give for the spread of His kingdom” (BCP, page 291). In either case, be sure to sign the guest book and introduce yourself to us upon the conclusion of the service.

We are part of the Anglican Province of Christ the King–a nationwide body of traditional Episcopal Churches which stands for historic Christianity in the Anglican tradition.

OUR BELIEFS are based on the teaching of the Bible and the ancient creeds of the Church. We use the 1928 Book of Common Prayer as the basis for our worship.

OUR MISSION is to worship God, serve Jesus Christ, and to bring mankind to Jesus and His Church by : (1) proclaiming biblical truth through Catholic order as it is embodied in the historic Book of Common Prayer; (2) preaching God’s Word and administrating His Holy Sacraments; (3) showing the love of Christ by reaching out to others through works of charity; and (4) upholding Christian family values and teaching the Christian faith and New Testament morality to our children.

OUR GOALS are: to grow in understanding of and participation in the corporate worship services of the Church, to reach Holy Scripture daily and to love God and our neighbor more fully.

FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN are especially welcomed, as our Church School stands ready to equip you and your children for living the Christian life. Sunday school instruction and nursery are provided during the 10:30 am Sunday service.
