COLUMBARIUM DEDICATION

Ron and Jan Costin generously gave the funds to construct the beautiful columbarium at the back of the church to meet a real need for our members. We are grateful for this wonderful alternative to offer a place of rest on Holy Ground for members and loved ones of our church Ron will explain in more depth the purpose of the columbarium.

CAR WASH FUNDRAISER NEXT SUNDAY, OCTOBER 7th

Our annual car wash fundraiser is being hosted by St. George’s Youth Group and Sunday School. The price is $5.00 per car plus a generous donation. 10% of the proceeds will go to paying down our Development Fund Loan and the remainder will be designated for next summer’s church camp. Please join us–your participation supports our children and teaches them the meaning of working hard to help others. Last year’s event was very successful and everyone had lots of fun!

FALL FESTIVAL PICNIC AND BARBECUE -OCTOBER 20TH

Bob and Carol Fabbri are donating a delicious barbecue for St. George’s Fall Festival at Mountain Crest Park located at Durango and Lone Mountain on Saturday, October 20. Tickets are $15.00 per adult, children age 12 and younger are free. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to reduce the Development Fund Loan. Spread the word about St. George’s by inviting your friends and neighbors.

FR. GREER’S CLASS BEGINS SUNDAY OCTOBER 21ST

Father Greer begins his new class on Anglicanism at 9:00 am on Sunday October 21st . The class is opened to anyone who is interested. Several members of the last class have indicated they would like to join this class. Father Greer says he will enthusiastically welcome them back as well as newcomers.

“BACK TO BASICS” CLASS OFFERED SUNDAYS, 9-10 AM, THROUGH OCT. 14TH

This class continues to study the Mass. It is also an open forum about questions you may have about the church or the Christian faith. Each class is unique and everyone is welcome to join on any Sunday.

ANGEL PARK PUTTING TOURNAMENT, MARK YOUR CALENDARS!

FLOWERS

The 2007 flower chart is available for sign up. There are many Sundays when no flowers have been requested. The chart can be found on the bulletin board in the back hall along with information about ordering flowers.

AS WE PRAY, SO WE BELIEVE -Why do two of our hymns today (“Ye holy angels bright,” Hymn 600 and “Ye watchers and ye holy ones,” Hymn 599) place heavy emphasis on joining with the saints and Heavenly Host in praising God?

There is a unique element in our worship. God, the creator of the universe, is eternal. For him time has no meaning. So as we gather together for worship, and particularly for the Holy Communion, we find ourselves linked in worship not only with fellow Christians in church with us, but with fellow Christians of all times and in all places. The Church is the company of men and women of all ages, past, present, and future, who are linked in obedience to the will of God in Jesus Christ. Our worship, therefore, is in a very important sense not only a link between God and man, but a link between all who follow Jesus wherever they may be, and whenever they may live. If you are seeking a church home we welcome you into our spiritual family so that you might make good on your Christian duty to “follow Christ, worship God every Sunday in His Church, to work and pray and give for the spread of His kingdom” (BCP, page 291). In either case, be sure to sign the guest book and introduce yourself to us upon the conclusion of the service.

We are part of the Anglican Province of Christ the King–a nationwide body of traditional Episcopal Churches which stands for historic Christianity in the Anglican tradition.

OUR BELIEFS are based on the teaching of the Bible and the ancient creeds of the Church. We use the 1928 Book of Common Prayer as the basis for our worship.

OUR MISSION is to worship God, serve Jesus Christ, and to bring mankind to Jesus and His Church by : (1) proclaiming biblical truth through Catholic order as it is embodied in the historic Book of Common Prayer; (2) preaching God’s Word and administrating His Holy Sacraments; (3) showing the love of Christ by reaching out to others through works of charity; and (4) upholding Christian family values and teaching the Christian faith and New Testament morality to our children.

OUR GOALS are: to grow in understanding of and participation in the corporate worship services of the Church, to read Holy Scripture daily and to love God and our neighbor more fully.

FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN are especially welcomed, as our Church School stands ready to equip you and your children for living the Christian life. Sunday school instruction and nursery are provided during the 10:30 am Sunday service.
