All: Out of the mouth of very babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength, because of thine enemies, * that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger. Priest: When I consider thy heavens, even the work of thy fingers; * the moon and the stars which thou hast ordained; All: What is man, that thou art mindful of him? * and the son of man, that thou visitest him? Priest: Thou madest him lower than the angels, * to crown him with glory and worship. All: Thou makest him to have dominion of the works of thy hands; * and thou hast put all things in subjection under his feet: Priest: All sheep and oxen; * yea, and the beasts of the field; All: The fowls of the air, and the fishes of the sea; * and whatsoever walketh through the paths of the seas. Priest: O Lord our Governor, * how excellent is thy Name in all the world! Priest: Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost. All: As it was in the beginning, is now and every shall be. Amen. Genesis 1.1 & 20-28Priest: In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven. And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good. And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth. And the evening and the morning were the firth day. And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so. And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and everything that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good. And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the eart, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. ALL THINGS BRIGHT AND BEAUTIFUL (Hymn 311) (All)All things bright and beautiful, All creatures great and small, All things wise and wonderful, The Lord God made them all. Each little flower that opens, Each little bird that sings, He made their glowing colors, He made their tiny wings. All things bright and beautiful, All creatures great and small, All things wise and wonderful, The Lord God made them all. Priest: Our help is in the Name of the Lord. All: Who hath made heaven and earth. Priest: The Lord be with you. All: And with thy spirit. Priest: Let us pray. Priest: O Lord God, king of heaven and earth, Word of the Father, by whom all things were made and given unto us for our use: we entreat thee mercifully to behold us thy servants. As thou dost grant us thy help in our labours and necessities, so vouchsafe of thy loving kindness and mercy to bless, keep and protect these pets with thy heavenly bene+diction. Grant also unto us thy servants both temporal aid and thy heavenly grace, that we may thankfully praise and glorify thy holy Name. Who with the same Father in the unity of the Holy Spirit, livest and reignest God, world without end. Amen. Ushers will guide each pet and the owner forward for the Blessing. The Priest sprinkles those present and the animals with Holy Water. Hymn - All Creatures of our God and King (All) All creatures of our God and King, Lift up your voice and with us sing: Alleluia! Let all things their Creator bless, and worship him in humbleness; O Praise him, alleluia! Praise, praise the Father, praise the Son, and praise the Spirit, three in one: O praise him, O praise him, Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia! - St. Francis
