LIGHTING COMPLETED ABOVE THE STATIONS OF THE CROSS

Lights are now installed above Stations VII and VIII.  This completes the lighting above all of the stations.  Many thanks to the anonymous donor who gave not only the lighting but the beautiful Stations as well.

DID YOU KNOW?

If your children are young, you’ve probably thought about who would raise them if for some reason you or another parent couldn’t.  It’s not an easy thing to consider, but with a simple arrangement of a guardian in your will, you can feel sure that, in the extremely unlikely event you can’t raise your kids, they will be well cared for.  You should name one personal guardian (and one alternate, in case your first choice can’t serve) for each of your children.  Legally, you may name more than one guardian, but it’s generally not a good idea because of the possibility that the coguardians will later disagree.  On the other hand, if you prefer that two people care for your child – for example, a stable couple who would act as coparents – name both of them, so that they each have the legal power to make important decisions on behalf of your child.

STEWARDSHIP SUNDAY - SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 16, 2008

St. George’s stands here as a Holy Place.  As you contemplate your pledge, please remember that the tithe is the biblical and Christian standard of giving back to God and His Church.  It is defined as giving 10% of your annual income for the furtherance of God’s Kingdom.

We employ the rich Ceremonial of the historic Church in our worship.  While it may seem a bit strange or unnatural to you at first, be patient.  The liturgical heritage of the Church WILL speak to you in time, as it has to Christians through the centuries.

Welcome to Saint George’s Parish

In the Name of  God the Father who created us and sustains the world in which we live, God the Son who died for us and rose again to save us from a life of sin and death, and God the Holy Ghost who inhabits and guides our sacramental and prayerful worship of Him, the One and Triune God.
