ANNUAL PARISH MEETING TODAY AFTER THE 10:30 AM MASS

If you are uncertain as to whether you are eligible to vote at the annual meeting, the voting members’ list and Parish By-Laws are posted on the bulletin board in the Sunday School classrooms hallway.

STATIONS OF THE CROSS & LITANY: THIS THURSDAY, MARCH 12 6:00 PM

In addition to the regular weekday Mass on Wednesday, the services of Stations of the Cross and Litany will be on Thursday, March 12th.  A lenten supper will follow the Litany.  An important way to keep a good Lent is to add a weekday service to your schedule.  Please try to attend at least one of the weekday services this week.

ANY VOLUNTEERS FOR LENTEN SUPPERS?

Three Lenten suppers are offered during March: Thursday, March 12; Wednesday, March 18; and Wednesday, March 25.  We hope volunteers (or groups of volunteers) will offer to prepare a simple Lenten supper.  It is another way to bring our parish family together, especially during Lent.

FIRST CHOICE PREGNANCY SERVICES 4TH ANNUAL MARCH FOR LIFE

The March for Life takes place Saturday, March 21, 2009 at Baker Park in downtown Las Vegas. Each year, First Choice serves 3,500 new clients and most of these women are facing an unplanned pregnancy and are tempted by abortion.  First Choice offers pregnancy testing and consultation, medical consultation and ultrasound exams, and post-abortive counseling.  First Choice helps save about 110 babies each month.  Please consider participating in the walk.  If you would like to join the walk, please speak with Father Hines or Martha Murray.

“Where there is no religion, there is no morality . . . With the loss of religion . . . the ultimate foundation of confidence is blown up; and the security of life, liberty and property are buried in ruins.” - Timothy Dwight, President of Yale University, 1798

LENTEN MITE BOXES

If you did not receive a Lenten Mite Box, a supply is located on the table at the back of the church.  One of the ways to observe Lent is to give a little extra of your time and talent.  Please write your name on the mite box and you will receive credit on your individual donation reports.  These monies are a vital means of financial support for our national seminary, St. Joseph’s Anglican Theological College.

WAYS TO KEEP A GOOD LENT

+Select a book of the Bible to read such as: St. John’s Gospel, St. Mark’s Gospel, St. Paul’s 1st Epistle to the Corinthians, Genesis, or Jeremiah.

+Attend more weekday Liturgies.

+Get involved in a church ministry.  Interested?  Talk to Fr. Hines+

+Make your confession.  Fr. Hines and Fr. Greer are available for confessions each Saturday or to schedule an appointment, please call the church office.

We employ the rich ceremonial of the historic Church in our worship.  While it may seem a bit

strange or unnatural to you at first, be patient.  The liturgical heritage of the Church WILL

speak to you in time, as it has to Christians through the centuries.
