Welcome
to If you are a visitor with us for today, we bid you God speed on your journey. If you are seeking a church home, we welcome you into our spiritual family so that you might make good on your Christian duty to “follow Christ, worship God every Sunday in His Church, to work and pray and give for the spread of His kingdom” (BCP, page 291). In either case, be sure to sign the guest book and introduce yourself to us upon the conclusion of the service. We are part of the Anglican Province of Christ the King – a nationwide body of traditional Anglican Churches which stands for historic Christianity in the Anglican tradition. OUR BELIEFS are based on the teaching of the Bible and the ancient creeds of the Church. We use the 1928 Book of Common Prayer as the basis for our worship. OUR MISSION is to worship God, serve Jesus Christ, and bring mankind to Jesus and His Church by: (1) proclaiming biblical truth through Catholic order as it is embodied in the historic Book of Common Prayer; (2) preaching God’s Word and administrating His Holy Sacraments; (3) showing the love of Christ by reaching out to others through works of charity; and (4) upholding Christian family values and teaching the Christian faith and New Testament morality to our children. OUR GOALS are: (1) to grow in understanding and participating in the corporate worship services of the Church; (2) to read Holy Scripture daily; and (3) to love God and our neighbor more fully. FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN are especially welcomed, as our THE RICH CEREMONIAL of the historic Church is what we employ in our worship. While it may seem a bit strange or unnatural to you at first, be patient: the liturgical heritage of the Church WILL speak to you in time, as it has to Christians throughout the centuries. THE PROPER POSTURE for worship is simply expressed. We sit to learn, (Sermon, etc.) and stand to praise (singing and hearing the Gospel read). To pray, we either kneel or stand, but we do not sit unless we are enfeebled. Before the service speak to the LORD. During the service let the LORD speak to you. After the service speak to one another. Priest The Lord be with you. People And with thy spirit. Priest The Holy + Gospel is written + in the 20th
Chapter of the Gospel according to All Glory be to thee, O Lord. 1 The first day of the week cometh Mary Magdalene early, when it was yet dark, unto the sepulchre, and seeth the stone taken away from the sepulchre. 2 Then she runneth, and cometh to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple, whom Jesus loved, and saith unto them, They have taken away the Lord out of the sepulchre, and we know not where they have laid him. 3 Peter therefore went forth, and that other disciple, and came to the sepulchre. 4 So they ran both together: and the other disciple did outrun Peter, and came first to the sepulchre. 5 And he stooping down, and looking in, saw the linen clothes lying; yet went he not in. 6 Then cometh Simon Peter following him, and went into the sepulchre, and seeth the linen clothes lie. 7 And the napkin, that was about his head, not lying with the linen clothes, but wrapped together in a place by itself. 8 Then went in also that other disciple, which came first to the sepulchre, and he saw, and believed. 9 For as yet they knew not the scripture, that he must rise again from the dead. 10 Then the disciples went away again unto their own home. All Praise be to thee, O Christ THE EASTER ALLELUIA AND SEQUENCE:Alleluia, Alleluia. Christ our Passover: is sacrificed for us. Victimae Paschali: Christians, to the Paschal Victim, Offer your thankful praises! A lamb the sheep redeemeth: Christ, who only is sinless, Reconcileth sinners to the Father. Death and life have contended in that combat stupendous: The Prince of Life, who died, reigns immortal. Speak, Mary, declaring What thou sawest wayfaring. “The tomb of Christ, who is living, The glory of Jesus’ resurrection; Bright angels attesting, the shroud and napkin resting. Yea, Christ my hope is arisen: To Galilee he goes before you.” Christ indeed from death is risen, Our new life obtaining. Have mercy, victor King, ever reigning! Amen. Alleluia. NICENE CREED (Standing) All I BELIEVE in one God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, And of all things visible and invisible: And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God; Begotten of his Father before all worlds, God of God, Light of Light, Very God of very God; Begotten, not made; Being of one substance with the Father; By whom all things were made; Who for us men and for our salvation came down from heaven, [here genuflect] AND WAS INCARNATE BY THE HOLY GHOST OF THE VIRGIN MARY, AND WAS MADE MAN [here rise]: And was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate; He suffered and was buried; And the third day he rose again according to the Scriptures: And ascended into heaven, And sitteth on the right hand of the Father: And he shall come again, with glory to judge both the quick and the dead; Whose kingdom shall have no end. And I believe in the Holy Ghost, The Lord, and Giver of Life, Who proceedeth from the Father and the Son, Who with the Father and the Son together is worshipped and glorified; Who spake by the Prophets: And I believe one Catholic and Apostolic Church: I acknowledge one Baptism for the remission of sins: And I look for the Resurrection of the dead: And the Life + of the world to come. Amen. WE beseech thee also, so to direct and dispose the hearts of all Christian Rulers, that they may truly and impartially administer justice, to the punishment of wickedness and vice, and to the maintenance of thy true religion and virtue. GIVE grace, O heavenly Father, to all Bishops and other Ministers, that they may, both by their life and doctrine, set forth thy true and lively Word, and rightly and duly administer thy holy Sacraments. AND to all thy People give thy heavenly grace; and especially to this congregation here present; that, with meek heart and due reverence, they may hear, and receive thy holy word; truly serving thee in holiness and righteousness all the days of their life. AND we most humbly beseech thee, of thy goodness, O Lord, to comfort and succour all those who, in this transitory life, are in trouble, sorrow, need, sickness, or any other adversity. CANON OF THE MASS (Kneel)Celebrant ALL glory be to thee, Almighty God, our heavenly Father, for that thou, of thy tender mercy, didst give thine only Son Jesus Christ to suffer death upon the cross for our redemption; who made there (by his one oblation of himself once offered) a full, perfect, and sufficient sacrifice, oblation, and satisfaction, for the sins of the whole world; and did institute, and in his holy Gospel command us to continue, a perpetual memory of that his precious death and sacrifice, until his coming again: The bell is rung once to remind us that our Lord’s words of institution are about to be prayed. FOR in the night in which he was betrayed, he took Bread; and when he had given thanks, he brake it, and gave it to his disciples, saying, Take, eat, THIS IS MY BODY. WHICH IS GIVEN FOR YOU: Do this in remembrance of me. The bell is
rung as the Celebrant genuflects, elevates, genuflects.
At the elevation you may look up and express your faith and devotion, thinking
on LIKEWISE, after supper, He took the cup; and when the had given thanks, he gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of this; for THIS IS MY BLOOD OF THE NEW TESTAMENT, WHICH IS SHED FOR YOU, AND FOR MANY, FOR THE REMISSION OF SINS: Do this, as oft as ye shall drink it, in remembrance of me. The bell is rung as the Celebrant genuflects,
elevates, genuflects. At the elevation
you may look up and express your
faith and devotion, thinking on The OblationWHEREFORE, O Lord and heavenly Father, according to the institution of thy dearly beloved Son our Saviour Jesus Christ, we, thy humble servants, do celebrate and make here before thy Divine Majesty, with these thy holy gifts, which we now offer unto thee, the memorial thy Son hath commanded us to make, having in remembrance his blessed passion and precious death, his mighty resurrection and glorious ascension; rendering unto thee most hearty thanks for the innumerable benefits procured unto us by the same. The InvocationAnd we most humbly beseech thee, O merciful Father, to hear us; and, of thy almighty goodness, vouchsafe to bless and sanctify, with thy Word and Holy Spirit, these thy gifts and creatures of bread and wine; that we, receiving them according to thy Son our Savior Jesus Christ’s holy institution, in remembrance of his death and passion, may be partakers of his most blessed Body and Blood. And we earnestly desire thy fatherly goodness, mercifully to accept this our sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving; most humbly beseeching thee to grant that, by the merits and death of thy Son Jesus Christ, and through faith in his blood, we, and all thy whole Church, may obtain remission of our sins, and all other benefits of his passion. And here we offer and present unto thee, O Lord, our selves, our souls and bodies, to be a reasonable, holy and living sacrifice unto thee; humbly beseeching thee, that we, and all others who shall be partakers of this Holy Communion may worthily receive the most precious Body and Blood of thy Son Jesus Christ, be + filled with thy grace and heavenly benediction, and made one body with him, that he may dwell in us, and we in him. And although we are unworthy, through our manifold sins, to offer unto thee any sacrifice; yet we beseech thee to accept this our bounden duty and service; not weighing our merits, but pardoning our offenses, through Jesus Christ our Lord; by whom, and with whom, in the unity of the Holy Ghost, all honor and glory be unto thee, O Father Almighty, world without end. People: Amen. Celebrant: And now, as our Saviour Christ hath taught us, we are bold to say. THE LORD’S PRAYER - 722All Our Father, who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy Name, Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done, On earth as it is in heaven, Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, As we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation. PRAYER OF HUMBLE ACCESS Celebrant We do not presume to come to this thy Table, O merciful Lord, trusting in our own righteousness, but in thy manifold and great mercies. We are not worthy so much as to gather up the crumbs under thy Table. But thou art the same Lord, whose property is always to have mercy: Grant us therefore, gracious Lord, so to eat the flesh of thy dear Son Jesus Christ, and to drink his blood, that our sinful bodies may be made clean by his body, and our souls washed through his most precious blood, and that we may evermore dwell in him, and he in us. Come, ye sad and fearful hearted, With glad smile and radiant brow: Lent’s long shadows have departed; All his woes are over now, And the passion that he bore: Sin and pain can vex no more. Come, with high and holy hymning, Chant our Lord’s triumphant lay; Not one darksome cloud is dimming Yonder glorious morning ray, Breaking o’er the purple east, Symbol of our Easter feast.
