Although our world is in the shadows of uncertainty, we are at this time to once again re-live the birth among us of God's only-begotten Son. In the midst of any darkness which these times may bring we are pointed to the birth of the One who is the Light of the world. He is the Light which scatters the dark. "The true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world....And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us..." (Jn. 1: 9, 14).
 

Yes, especially during these times, we give thanks to God the Father for sending us His Son to be Our Lord and Savior in the midst of evil and sin. The joyous song of the angels, which echoed over the skies of Bethlehem on that Christmas, rings ever more assuredly within our hearts this Christmas. "Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord" (Lk. 2:10-11).
 

Like the shepherds on that first Christmas, let us go "with haste [to find] Mary and Joseph, and the babe lying in the manger" (Lk. 2:16). Let us offer this newborn Lord Jesus our love and praise, and the obedient faith of our grateful hearts. Then, let us proclaim the good news of His birth and salvation to everyone we meet by the faithful witness of our lives.
