Bulletin Announcement for Trinity 22 October 23, 2016

INSTRUCTION ON THE FAITH: Why do we pray for the deceased? Why do we pray for the repose of souls on All Saints Day and All Soul’s Day?

PLEASE WELCOME OUR GUEST ORGANIST, STEVE WRIGHT.
Steve will be playing today and next Sunday, October 30, while Ron Richardson is on vacation.

ACW FALL PICNIC, NEXT SATURDAY, OCTOBER 29, 11:00 AM, LONE MTN REGIONAL PARK
There will be games, a traditional cake walk, picnic lunch and time to visit with fellow parishioners. A children’s play area, plus horseshoes and bocce ball courts are next to the park site (If you have horseshoes and/or bocce balls, please bring them). The park is located east of the Beltway, I-215 at 9783 West Lone Mountain Road. Two sign-up clipboards are available on the patio. The picnic is sponsored by the ACW and the cost is $5.00 per person to help pay for the cost of the food. If you will be able to join us, please sign up so that we know how much food to prepare. A sign-up sheet is on the patio. We need three homemade cakes for the “Cake Walk.” If you would like to bake one of those cakes, please sign on the other clipboard.

DISCUSSION GROUP CONTINUES ON WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 26
Discussion continues on The Elements of the Spiritual Life. Next Wednesday we will study Chapter 5, pages 62-70. The discussion is regarding the Cardinal Virtues: Justice, Temperance, Fortitude, and Prudence. Feel free to join us. The class will continue into early November.

ACOLYTE TRAINING – CONTINUES TODAY
Acolyte training continues today between 8:00 and 10:30 services. All parishioners are welcome to attend the first part of the training to better understand why we do the things we do.

INTERCESSORY PRAYER GROUP WILL MEET ON THURSDAY, OCTOBER 27 AT NOON.

ALL SAINTS DAY (November 1st) AND ALL SOUL’S DAY (November 2)
St. George’s parish will observe the Feast of All Saints Day on Tuesday, November 1st at 5:45 pm and All Souls Day on Wednesday at 5:45 pm. Please provide the names of those deceased you would like to be prayed for on All Souls Day. Each name from the list will be prayed for by Fr. Hines and the congregation at the Mass for All Souls Day.

RED WAGON PANTRY – OCTOBER IS SOUP, STEW, AND SPAGHETTI MONTH!
The Food Pantry can use some Hearty/Chunky soup, Stew, and canned goods such as Spaghetti. If anyone knows of someone in need of food, please speak with Father Hines so the food pantry can assist. Thank you so much.

CHOIR FUND
As we approach Christmas 2016, our choir fund is short of cash and unable to cover the costs of our holiday expenses. Please prayerfully consider making a small donation to the choir fund. Your contributions will be used to purchase special music for Christmas and Easter and help advertise the Nine Lessons and Carols. If you have any questions, please speak with Father Hines.

GREETING VISITORS
The ministry of being a Greeter is more important and rewarding than you may realize. It is important to make visitors feel welcome. Just saying “hello,” asking visitors to sign the guest book, and giving them a small gift helps people feel comfortable. If you are interested in helping with this important project, please speak with Ann Whitfield.
