BULLETIN ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR DECEMBER 8, 2013

ADVENT BIBLE STUDY

The regularly scheduled Enquirers’ Class that meets twice weekly will be replaced by a four-week study of Advent.  We urge all adults to attend this extremely important series.  Even if you have not been attending the Enquirers’ class, please try to attend.  Dates of Advent Bible Study Classes:

Sunday, 9:25-10:10 am:        Today, December 8,  December 15

Wednesday, 7:00 pm:             December 11, December 18

 

SIGN-UP SHEETS FOR LESSONS AND CAROLS FOR CHRISTMASS

The Festival committee is requesting donations of food for Lessons and Carols for Christmass which will take place on Sunday, Dec. 22 at 5:00 pm.  A sign-up sheet is available on the patio.

SUNDAY SCHOOL CHRISTMAS PAGEANT REHEARSAL SCHEDULE

With all the hustle and bustle that comes with Christmas preparations, it is nice that our children have an opportunity to enjoy Advent and the preparation for the coming of our Lord.  Please note the following rehearsal times:

Monday, December 9 at 6:30 pm                      Saturday, December 14 at 3:00 p.m. (FINAL REHEARSAL)

SUNDAY SCHOOL PAGEANT IS SUNDAY, DECEMBER 15 AFTER 10:30 AM MASS

 

CHRISTMAS POINSETTIAS

If you wish to contribute to the Christmas poinsettias, a sign-up sheet is located on the table at the back of the church.

FINANCIAL OFFERING FOR VICTIMS OF TYPHOON HAIYAN IN PHILIPPINES

We have parishioners with family members in the Philippines affected by the typhoon.  Any help you can give them would be appreciated.  The Vestry of St. George’s will oversee distribution of funds.  Use envelopes in pews and write “Typhoon relief” on the envelope or on your check.

 

EPIPHANY GIFT PROJECT

Epiphany celebrates the Magi bringing gifts to the baby Jesus.  Epiphany Sunday  will be January 5, 2014.    We are  a church that enjoys following scripture and the traditions of our forefathers.  Thus it is appropriate for us to give Epiphany gifts.  More information will follow.

 

GREENING OF THE CHURCH

Decorating the church for the Lessons and Carols for Christmass will begin after the Sunday School Pageant on December 15 and will continue in the evenings throughout the week, ending on Saturday afternoon, December 21, as time and schedules permit.  Scotty and Sandy Heer will coordinate the project but we need volunteers to help.  If  you are able to help with this project, please let us know using the sign-up sheet located on the patio.

 

VOLUNTEERS FOR COFFEE HOUR

Please consider volunteering for coffee hour during December, January, February.  The sign-up sheet is on the patio.
