BULLETIN ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR JANUARY 5, 2014

BAPTISM TODAY
Today is an all-important event in the life of Scotty & Amanda Plehn’s son.  He will be baptized during Mass at 10:30 am.  Your prayers are welcomed and greatly appreciated by the Plehn family.

EPIPHANY GIFT PROJECT
Today is the day the Magi bring gifts to the baby Jesus.  As you know, St. George’s has a wish list of items needed for the coming year.  If you brought a gift, please place it under the Christmas tree or place donations in the offering.  Father Hines will bless all the gifts during today’s announcements.

EPIPHANY FAMILY PARTY TODAY
The ninth annual Epiphany party is celebrated today after the 10:30 am service.  Please join us for fun & refreshments.  The Sunday School children will try to break the Pinata and we will be treated to a delicious Epiphany cake.  The tradition is:  If you get the slice of cake with the Baby Jesus, you receive a prize and you bake next year’s Epiphany cake!

VOLUNTEERS ARE REQUESTED TO STAY AFTER COFFEE HOUR TODAY TO HELP TAKE DOWN AND PACK UP THE CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS

DONATION ENVELOPES
If you completed a 2013 Pledge Card, you will receive donation envelopes.  Unfortunately, the order is delayed and we will distribute them as soon as they are received.  If you have not completed a pledge, pledge cards are available on the table at the back of the church.

HOLIDAY CONCERT WITH HARMONY HANDBELLS & SUMMERLIN RINGERS
Two performances are scheduled:  Today at 3:00 pm at St. Andrew Lutheran Church, 8901 Del Webb Blvd and 3:00 pm next Sunday, January 12, at Desert Spring United Methodist Church, 120 N. Pavilion Center Drive.  For more information, please speak with choir member, Dee Hanks.

COFFEE HOUR VOLUNTEERS AND DONATIONS NEEDED
“Service” is a wonderful way to give back to God and our church.  Coffee Hour is very important for fellowship and for welcoming new members into the parish.  Oft times it might be the only opportunity for our parish family to socialize and for visitors and new members to meet us.  Sign up sheets are located on the coffee hour table.  As our Lord said, “It is more blessed to give, than to receive.”   We also need donations to the coffee hour fund.  Your donations during coffee hour are used to purchase coffee, tea, condiments, paper plates, coffee cups etc.
