ATHANASIAN CREED
We will recite the Athanasian Creed in place of the Nicene Creed this morning.  Please refer to the insert.

The Catholic Church in the Anglican tradition uses three creeds in her worship: the Apostle’s Creed; the Nicene Creed; and the Athanasian Creed.  The Athanasian Creed is named after St. Athanasius, though it probably was not written by him.  The creed is recited on certain feast days, such as Trinity Sunday.  It remains an authorized statement of right belief, with a short and clear exposition of the doctrines of the Trinity of the Persons of God, and the twofold nature in the one Divine Person of Jesus Christ.
