Bulletin Announcements for October 12, 2014 – Seventeenth Sunday After Trinity

FOUR BAPTISMS TODAY
Today is an all-important event in the lives of Stephanie Rowe and Charles, Amanda, and Alycea Akers.   They will be baptized during the 8:00 am Mass.  Your prayers are welcomed and greatly appreciated.  Please join us after Mass on the patio to celebrate.  

ANNUAL FALL BARBECUE, SATURDAY, OCTOBER 18, LONE MOUNTAIN PARK, 11:30AM
A flyer with details of the picnic is enclosed with a map on the reverse side.  Please save the date. Two sign-up clipboards are available on the patio.  If you plan to attend, please sign up so that we can plan how much food to prepare.  Also, if you would like to bake a homemade cake for the “Cake Walk,” please sign on the other clipboard.

 MONDAY MORNING BIBLE CLASS:  STUDY OF THE BOOK OF ACTS
The Monday AM Bible study begins study of the Book of Acts on October 20 at 10:30 am.  This is a six-week series led by Ann Whitfield.  A sign-up sheet is on the patio

WINTER COAT DRIVE FOR STUDENTS AT MOLASKY JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL
St. George continues to participate in the Community Partnership program.  Molasky Jr. High School has identified some students who are in need of winter coats or jackets.  New or gently used coats and jackets that are clean, in good condition, and free of pet hair and odor.  Adult size S M, L, XL are requested.  If you would like to participate in this project, please bring donations to church not later than November 16th.  If you prefer, a financial donation is appreciated.

HEALTHIER LIVING WORKSHOP CONCLUDES ON THURSDAY, OCTOBER 16
The Stanford Medical School’s Chronic Disease Self-Management Workshop offers a workshop on taking control of your Diabetes.  The group meets on Thursdays, continuing through October 16, at 2:00-4:30 pm.

9 LESSONS & CAROLS CHOIR PRACTICE CONTINUES EACH SUNDAY AT 9:10 AM
Enjoy singing Christmas carols? Want to praise God and support the music program at St. George’s? Come to our practice. You do not need to read music to sing with us. The Festival of 9 Lessons & Carols to be held at St. George’s on Sunday, Dec. 21.

The family is finalizing arrangements for Ishioma.   As soon as we know the date and time of her Requiem, we will notify everyone at St. George’s.
