STEWARDSHIP SEASON
As Christians, we recognize God as the source of all creation, therefore the giver of all that we possess:  “All things come of Thee O Lord…” (I Chron. 29:14.  Our possessions are material things, but what we do with them is a spiritual matter.  The regular support of the ministry, through our weekly donations at Church, becomes a disciplined way of acknowledging who God is and what is His.  Practiced in the right way, our giving becomes a real way to thank God for the abundance of His blessings.  Please pray for the Stewardship of our Parish.  Pray for our Vestry.  Pray for your priest. And finally pray to God to give you a clear sense of direction in your own offering to Him through St. George’s.

MY  PLEDGE 2014
If you have not already done so, please complete a pledge card located on the table at the back of the church and place it in the offering plate. Please offer your pledge as soon as possible so that the Vestry can begin work on next year’s budget.

BLESSING OF THE ANIMALS
Many thanks to all who helped make the Blessing of the Animals such a huge success. Special thanks to Richard and Sherri Princen who brought their wonderful horses, ponies and their very well-behaved turkeys.  Also thanks to Nature’s Pet Market for their donation of all types of pet food.  If you missed the Blessing, some of the food is still available on the patio.  Also thanks to Angie Thompson’s grandson, Chase Hendrick, who volunteered so ably to set up and clean up after the event.  A very important contribution indeed!

GILLIAN MacKENZIE IS WALKING TO RAISE MONEY FOR THE AMERICAN LUNG ASSOCIATION.  Gillian is participating in the Fight For Air Walk on October 20th at Floyd Lamb Park to raise money for this worthy cause.  By making a contribution on her behalf, you will be helping to provide community based education programs and fund life saving research.  Please go to her web site: http://www.lung.org/pledge-events/nv/las-vegas-walk-fy14.  Click on the Fight For Air Walk.  On the left side click on: “Donate” and input Gillian’s name.  If you prefer to donate by check, make the check payable to American Lung Assn. and place it in the church offering plate.
