BULLETIN ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR ST. MICHAEL & ALL ANGELS (Trinity XVIII)

“IN GATHERING SUNDAY” TODAY, SEPTEMBER 29TH
As Christians, we recognize God as the source of all creation, therefore the giver of all that we possess:  “All things come of Thee O Lord…” (I Chron. 29:14.  Our possessions are material things, but what we do with them is a spiritual matter.  The regular support of the ministry, through our weekly donations at Church, becomes a disciplined way of acknowledging who God is and what is His.  Practiced in the right way, our giving becomes a real way to thank God for the abundance of His blessings.  When considering your pledge, consider a few of St. George’s monthly expenses:  Mortgage:  $1500.00; Telephone:  approximately $275.00;  Utilities:  $650.00;  Repairs & Maintenance:  $1250.00;  Insurance (Health, Property, Liability, Workers’ Comp.): $750.00;  Diocesan tithe:  approximately $1225.00;  Office Expenses: $300.00.  Please pray for the Stewardship of our Parish.  Pray for our Vestry.  Pray for your priest.  And finally pray to God to give you a clear sense of direction in your own offering to Him through St. George’s.

BLESSING OF THE ANIMALS NEXT—SATURDAY, OCTOBER 5TH, 4:00 PM

Don’t forget!  The Blessing of the Animals celebrates the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi.  Everyone is welcome.  Please bring your pets and invite your friends and neighbors.  Extra copies of the flyer about the Blessing are available on the church patio.  Please take a few and give them to your neighbors or post them at Vets’ offices and grocery stores.  If your pet is unable to attend in person, please bring a photograph.  We will offer water and dog treats for your pets and treats for humans as well.  We hope to have a few surprises this year.   Please join us for this fun neighborhood event.

FALL FESTIVAL PICNIC, SATURDAY, OCTOBER 19th  -  SIGN-UP SHEETS ON PATIO

GILLIAN MacKENZIE IS WALKING TO RAISE MONEY FOR THE AMERICAN LUNG ASSOCIATION.  Gillian is participating in the Fight For Air Walk on October 20th at Floyd Lamb Park to raise money for this worthy cause.  By making a contribution on her behalf, you will be helping to provide community based education programs and fund life saving research.  Please go to her web site: http://www.lung.org/pledge-events/nv/las-vegas-walk-fy14.  Click on the Fight For Air Walk.  On the left side click on: “Donate” and input Gillian’s name.  If you prefer to donate by check, make the check payable to American Lung Assn. and place it in the church offering plate.

ALTAR FLOWERS

We are still seeking volunteers from both 8:00 am and 10:30 am services to order Altar flowers and transport them to the church each week.  The florist is located at Smith’s Grocery Store, Lake Mead & Rampart.  At present, we have only a few volunteers and would like to expand the group (men as well as women) so that each individual has the task no more than once per month. If you are interested in helping, please sign the list on the table at the back of the church or speak with Patty Earhart.
