TODAY’S INSTRUCTION ON THE FAITH:  What is the difference between an icon and a graven image?

HELP IS NEEDED FOR ST FRANCIS DAY BLESSING OF THE ANIMALS
Can you give of your time in some way on October 7, 11:00 am—1:00 pm?  A sign-up sheet is on the patio listing various jobs to fill to make this Blessing of the Animals a success.

READING BIBLE FOR TRANSFORMATION – SUNDAYS IN SEPT., 9:15-10:15 AM
Join us Sunday mornings in September (excluding Sunday, Sept. 4th) for a three-week class – Reading Scripture for Transformation.  We will explore various methods of reading Scripture, emphasizing a contemplative approach, but also looking at how to do that with discernment. God’s Word is a gift to us that we sometimes neglect to open, and we are invited to receive more than we often do as God offers Himself to us. Instruction offered by Kathy Ruud & Father Hines.

MONTH OF AUGUST AND SEPTEMBER—FOOD DRIVE!!

COFFEE HOUR VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR SEPTEMBER

QUIET REVERANCE IN CHURCH BEFORE MASS
Please try to maintain quiet in the church before Mass.  The choir rehearses 9:25–10:15 am in church.  After that we ask for quiet for those who wish to pray and prepare themselves before Mass.  The Lord was not “in the wind”….neither “in the earthquake”…neither “in the fire”…but in “a still small voice.” (I Kings 19:11-12). May we hear His voice!
