PRAYER FOR THE MILITARY

The Prayer shown on the cover of the bulletin was written by a member of our parish, Tom Covert, Air Force M. Sgt., Retired, for our petitions to Almighty God for those who serve in our armed forces.

YOUTH BIBLE STUDY CLASS MEETS IN FATHER HINES’ OFFICE TODAY

 

FATHER HINES’ ENQUIRERS CLASS BEGINS NEXT SUNDAY, JUNE 3RD, 9:25 – 10:10 AM

This is a nine week course for those enquiring about membership and parishioners wishing to learn more about the Mass. While the emphasis will be on the Mass other topics will include a history of St. George’s parish and the Anglican Church. The textbook is Fr. Greer’s Commentary on the Mass; cost is $5 to be paid at the 1st class.

 

NEW ALTAR RAIL TO BE DEDICATED AND ICON OF ST. GEORGE TO BE INSTALLED NEXT SUNDAY:   JUNE 3, 2012

 

KICK OFF THE SUMMER SEASON WITH A BARBECUE AND MEN’S CAKE AUCTION!

St. Anne’s Guild is preparing a barbecue after the 10:30 am service on Sunday, June 10.  The price is $10.00 per person.  Children 12 and under are free.  Following lunch there will be the traditional Men’s Cake Auction.  Please let us know if you will attend.  A sign-up sheet is located on the patio.

 

NOW FORMING: PASTORAL CARE NETWORK

Rebecca Andrews has volunteered to lead a new program to address special needs within our parish.  These might be sick, shut-in, hospitalized, elderly or other needs.  Rebecca is seeking members who can help with visits, meal preparation, reading, phone calls, etc.  A sign-up sheet is located on the patio.  All ages are encouraged to participate.  If you have any questions, please speak with Father Hines or Rebecca.

 

ALTAR FLOWERS

Thank you to all who have volunteered to help order and deliver Altar Flowers to the church each week.  We are currently working with Smith’s Florist to simplify the delivery and pick up process.  If you have not already volunteered, the sign up sheet is on the patio.  The florist is located in Smith’s Grocery Store at Lake Mead & Rampart.  If you live in the area of our church and/or Lake Mead and Rampart and are interested in helping, please sign the list.  As soon as the details are arranged, we will meet to discuss details.
