HEALTH SEMINAR CONTINUES TODAY AND MONDAY:   SEPTEMBER 22, 23

Centennial Hills 7th Day Adventist Church and St. George’s are co-sponsoring a three-day seminar called Newstart.  This evening Paul Volk, certified Health Educator, will discuss nutrition, exercise, cooking tips, weight loss etc.   On Monday, September 23rd, there will be a banquet prior to the final presentation.  Everyone is invited to attend.  There is no fee for the Seminar, but a donation will be requested to help cover Mr. Volk’s expenses.  We can all benefit from new information and tips helpful to our current diet and exercise routine.  If you are interested, please join us this evening.

Learn to manage your money God’s way. This is a nine week class taught by Dale Foust, our parishioner and Senior Warden. The cost is $99 which includes all the exercise materials. STEWARDSHIP SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 29TH

As Christians, we recognize God as the source of all creation, therefore the giver of all that we possess:  “All things come of Thee O Lord…” (I Chron. 29:14.  Our possessions are material things, but what we do with them is a spiritual matter.  The regular support of the ministry, through our weekly donations at Church, becomes a disciplined way of acknowledging who God is and what is His.  Practiced in the right way, our giving becomes a real way to thank God for the abundance of His blessings.  When considering your pledge, consider a few of St. George’s monthly expenses:  Mortgage:  $1500.00; Telephone:  approximately $275.00;  Utilities:  $650.00;  Repairs & Maintenance:  $1250.00;  Insurance (Health, Property, Liability, Workers’ Comp.): $750.00;  Diocesan tithe:  approximately $1225.00;  Office Expenses: $300.00.  Please pray for the Stewardship of our Parish.  Pray for our Vestry.  Pray for your priest.  And finally pray to God to give you a clear sense of direction in your own offering to Him through St. George’s.

BLESSING OF THE ANIMALS—SATURDAY, OCTOBER 5TH, 4:00 PM

You and your pets are invited to celebrate the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi.  Everyone is welcome.  If your pet is unable to attend in person, please bring a photograph.  We will offer water and dog treats for your pets and treats for humans as well.  Please join us for this fun neighborhood event.

ALTAR FLOWERS

We are seeking more volunteers from both 8:00 am and 10:30 am services to order Altar flowers and transport them to the church each week.  The florist is located at Smith’s Grocery Store, Lake Mead & Rampart.  At present, we have only a few volunteers and would like to expand the group (men as well as women) so that each turn does not occur more than once each month.  If you are interested in helping, please sign the list on the table at the back of the church.  For questions, please speak with Patty Earhart.
