TODAY’S INSTRUCTIONS ON THE FAITH:  What are the distinguishing marks of the Church as mentioned in the Creeds?

WELCOME SUMMERLIN RINGERS Experience a unique kind of musical performance from the community ensemble group that has been together for years, ringing special hand bell music for worship services and holiday concerts.  They will perform today at the 10:30 am service.

“NICOLE JOHNSON LIVE” - NEW CLASS Ann Whitfield has begun a 4-week Biblical study using tapes by Nicole Johnson.  Nicole is an author, speaker, and actress.  She presents the Gospel in skit form.  Some of you may remember Nicole from “Women of Faith” where she was on staff for several years.  The subjects will be Love, Hope, and Faith.  If time permits, we will also cover Psalm 31.  If you missed the class last Wednesday evening, a class will be held today at 9:15 am. This study will be held on both Wednesday and Sunday at the usual times, through May 11.

DONATIONS NEEDED TO PURCHASE CABINETS FOR FOOD PANTRY The Vestry has approved the purchase of cabinets so that the Food Pantry can be located in the church nursery.  Any donations towards the purchase of cabinets would be very much appreciated.  A Committee Meeting of the Food Pantry volunteers will be scheduled soon.

PARISHIONERS NEED RIDES TO AND FROM CHURCH ON SUNDAY MORNINGS Would you have time to pick up and/or take home a parishioner who is unable to drive?  Both people live fairly close to the church.  One attends the 8:00 am service and the other prefers 10:30 am Mass.  Sign-up sheets are available on the patio.  If you would like more information, coordinators for the ride schedules are Connie Cummings and Patty Earhart.

KEEPING THINGS FESTIVE THROUGH WHITSUNDAY From Easter Day to Whitsunday is perhaps the most glorious fifty days of the Church Kalendar year.  For forty days following our Lord’s Resurrection, He walked the earth and appeared unto His disciples and to numerous others.  As Our Lord promised His disciples, on the fortieth day He ascended into Heaven and told them to wait for the Comforter, the Holy Ghost, who descended on the disciples ten days later (Whitsunday or Pentecost, Sunday, May 15).  To distinguish these most momentous and joy-filled days in the history of mankind, the Church will adorn Herself with all the beauty She is capable of, and this will be expressed in its Masses, in its music and in its priestly vestments.
