CHRISTIAN CLASSICS – BOOK DISCUSSION:  MERE CHRISTIANITY BY C. S. LEWIS
The discussion group starts next Wednesday, June 15, after Evening Prayer and Mass, and will continue for 10 weeks.  The class will be led by Kathy Ruud.  It is not necessary to be there for all sessions in order to benefit from the discussion.  A reading assignment list will be given out so that you will know what we are discussing each class meeting.  You will want to purchase your own copy of the book and read Book 1 for the June 15th class.  A sign-up sheet is located on the patio.

SUMMER MOVIE NIGHT SCHEDULE: FIRST MOVIE WILL BE NEXT SATURDAY, JUNE 18, 6:30 PM
This summer we have three movie nights scheduled:  Saturday, June 18; Saturday, July 16; and Saturday August 6.  The first movie of the season is War Room.  The movie is: “a compelling drama with humor and heart that explores the power that prayer can have on marriages, parenting, careers, friendships, and every other area of our lives.”

18th ANNUAL DIOCESAN SYNOD:  JUNE 21-24, 2016
The Marriott Southern Hills Hotel in Tulsa, Oklahoma will be the venue this year.  The host parish is All Saints Anglican Cathedral in Tulsa.  The Synod Mass will be on June 24th at the Cathedral, followed by brunch. Synod delegates this year from St. George’s will be Ann Whitfield and Marva Woodward. Marva will also represent St. Anne’s ACW at the Diocesan ACW conference. Parishioner, Kim Jones, will also be in attendance at the Synod offering a presentation about Sunday school. Please pray for our parishioners and all who attend this meeting.  In case of emergency, you will be able to reach Fr. Hines by cell phone at 702-236-2129 or contact Dale Foust, Sr. Warden at 702-361-6218.  Martha Tracey will be in the office on Tuesday and Thursday, Noon to 6:00 while Father Hines is away.

NO MASS ON WEDNESDAY EVENING, JUNE 22 AND NO INTERCESSORY PRAYER GROUP ON THURSDAY, JUNE 23.   FATHER HINES WILL BE OUT-OF-TOWN ATTENDING SYNOD IN TULSA

BLESSING OF THE ANIMALS CELEBRATION, SATURDAY, OCTOBER 1ST
This year we are expanding this celebration and we need help from ALL parishioners.  We plan to have vendor booths as well as a petting zoo, pony rides, light refreshments, and of course, The Blessing of the Animals.  At this time, we need help distributing Invitations and Contracts to Vendors who represent animals.  The Invitations and Contracts are located on the patio.  Please take a few copies of the contracts and invitations to your veterinarian; pet groomers; trainers, pet boutiques; SPCA resources or any others you may think of.  For further information, please speak with Ann Whitfield or Fr. Hines.
