SUNDAY SCHOOL CHILDREN’S ENCOUNTER WITH CHRIST IN THE MASS TODAY
SUMMER SESSION
During the summer months, there will be three Sundays set aside for children in our Sunday school to encounter Christ in the Mass, to experience the Lord in the beauty of Holiness.  On these Sundays, please make an additional effort to make our children feel welcome as we worship as one parish family.  To facilitate this, there will be no Sunday school class or nursery on Sundays June 24, July 29 and August 26.  Please pray for God to touch the hearts of our children with His awe, majesty and love during these special times of worship!

THE BIBLE SAFARI MEETS TODAY, JUNE 24, 2018, 9:25 AM—10:15 AM
NEXT STOP ON THE BIBLE SAFARI:  HEBREWS
Please join us on the Bible Safari as we study the book of Hebrews. Ask anyone who is already taking part in the Bible Safari and they will tell you how much they are enjoying this study of the Bible.  And they would be happy to have you join us as we continue this valuable learning adventure!
The purpose of the book of Hebrews was to exhort Christians to persevere in the face of persecution. At the time of its writing, some believers were considering turning back to Judaism to escape being persecuted for accepting Christ as their savior. The theme of the book is the doctrine of the person of Christ and his role as mediator between God and humanity.
The epistle opens with an exaltation of Jesus as “the brightness of God’s glory, and the express image of his person”. It continues with the announcement of the superiority of the New Testament Revelation by the Son over Old Testament Revelation by the patriarchs and prophets. In doing so, it reaches back into Old Testament teachings to prove this point – giving us, as students, the opportunity to see how the New Testament is truly the fulfillment of the Old.

CANON STEVEN DART VISITS US NEXT SUNDAY
We will welcome Canon Steven Dart from sister-parish Christ Anglican Church in Carefree, Arizona.  Canon Dart will be preaching and celebrating the Mass next Sunday, July 1st, allowing Fr. Hines+ a respite.  Canon Dart was the mission priest for St. George’s during the 1990s and is a good friend of Fr. Hines and parishioners of St. George’s.
